Sweet Burns

Do not ask them,
For they will not tell you,
They keep their secrets to themselves over there.

Ask not for permission,
For they permit no dispensations,
They are those who hoard freedom.

Make no requests for forgiveness,
For they are without mercy,
Without compassion,
Without grace.

Keep your questions to yourself,
Make your requests known in your innermost part,
And let freedom spring from therein.

And if you must speak to them,
Let your words flow with fire and honey,
Leave them with sweet burns.
